Me and my work

I am a psychologist and a person who has a strong interest in all kinds of relationships.

My Typical Day

My typical day will involve: lecturing students about psychology, colelcting and analysing data, and writing articles and books.

What I'd do with the money

Use it to help me with a project I’m working on looking at how coaches influence athletes’ stress responses.

How would you describe yourself in 3 words?

Thoughtful, calm, confident

Would you rather be a scientist or an athlete? And why?

A scientist…because you grow into it with age…as an athlete, age eventually gets you :-)

If you could have a body super power, what would it be and why?

I would have a body that was resistant to all known forms of disease, decay, and age-related damage.

Which Olympic event would you most like to win? And why?

100 m mens final. Because it is always the highlight of the Olympics for me and always has been.

What did you want to be after you left school?

A footballer

Were you ever in trouble in at school?

Yes, of course…more times than I can remember.

What's the best thing you've done as a scientist?

Written a book on the importance of human relationships in sport.
