Favourite Thing: Im fascinated by environmental extremes, people climbing everest, running across the Sahara desert or trekking to the south pole, the stress that these environmental factors put on the body and the ways our body can adapt to cope with it is incredible. I am particularly interested in looking at ways that we can help people who perform in these activities either through training or through taking additional supplements to their normal diet.

I look at how our body responds when we eat or drink specific foods and how our body responds to reduced levels of oxygen

My Typical Day

Very varied, but typically I am performing tests with participants, analysing data, doing statistics and plenty of reading and writing. I sometimes do some teaching too

What I'd do with the money

I would provide an opportunity for students to visit our labs and get a hands on experience of what we do and how we can help athletes

My Interview
