Question: How fast is Dark?

clever question joshuachan2! Even Einstien has made a comment on this question in the past!
Some people say there is no such thing as dark because dark is just the absence of light. So in that case there is no speed of dark.
Others say that as darkness is everywhere (until light is shone), dark does not need to move. So in this case the speed of darkness would be 0.

Darkness isn’t a thing, it’s a lack of something, just like dryness is the lack of liquid, cold is the lack of heat and in this case darkness is the lack of light. Say you have a light source, but then switch it off. If you could “see” darkness instantly, see light rays from the side and could slow down time such that you could watch the light rays, you would see darkness “spreading” at the speed of light in that light leaves a given area at, of course, the speed of light.
