Question: what does Respiration mean ....
Asked by prosser to Jemma, John, Katie, Lisa on 22 Jun 2012.
answered on 22 Jun 2012:
Hi @prosser, great question!
Respiration is the method by which the cells in your body take complex carbohydrates such as sugar and use them as an energy source. They break these compounds down and so release energy which is stored within cells as a molecule called ATP.
Hope this helps
answered on 25 Jun 2012:
Lots of people confuse respiration and breathing! Respiration is what Jemma said above. Breathing is the physical act of taking air in and out of your lungs!
