• Question: Can you suggest any preventative measures athletes can take if they want to prevent injury?

      I guess there are some injuries that you can’t avoid – if other athletes cause you to fall or do something you weren’t prepared for, you can’t really do anything about that. But in terms of muscle injury, there’s lots you can do. Stretching is one of the most important – it can improve your range of motion, and if you do it within 15 minutes of starting exercise or something strenuous like running, will help to increase blood and oxygen flow to the muscles, warm you up, and prevent waste products like lactic acids building up.
