• Question: could it be possible for apes to take over the world?

      hi louisap!
      For this to happen the apes would need to evolve so that they could have advantages for survival over us humans. They would also need to find a way to increase in number becuse there are over 7 billion humans on the earth but only around 350,000 apes in the world. Whilst humans continue to destroy rainforests where apes live and hunt apes for sport, medicine and the pet trade in many parts of the world I think it gets increasingly unlikely that there will be enough apes left in the world to survive for the time it would take them to evolve and overcome the human race becuase this would take hundreds if not thousands of years.

      This is where the work of scientists who try to protect animals like apes and other threatened species is very important….we need different types of scientists for all kinds of important things!
