Question: during sports is there any certain symptoms that show a sign of a heart problem or muscle defunction?

Hi ciaraistall, really good question given the recent high-profile episodes of cariac arrest during sport. There are tests that can assess abnormal heart rhythms (e.g., atrial fibrillation), but there doesn’t seem to be any tests at present that seem to explain why otherwsie healthy individuals (and footballers are regularly tested I believe) may experience cardiac arrest during sport. I think there’s a conference that’s either just addressed this question or is about to.. What a great discovery that would be, if certain precursors to sudden cardiac arrest could be identified, and controlled…
