• Question: Dwain Chambers has been allowed to compete in the upcoming Olympics however some critics have argued that even though the performance enhancers he used are now completely out of his system he is still experiencing the advantages of taking the enhancers. Is this true?

That’s a really good question, thanks Rachel. I don’t know, so I’m going to pass and wait for the sports experts to answer – but I think there’s also an ethical issue about whether he should be allowed to compete in the first place. The Olympics is about testing people at the peak of their natural performance, and cheating by using performance enhancers flies in the face of that. Moreover, there’s the question of whether someone who has cheated once might do it again. Is it more important to win, or to take part in an honest and ethical way? Do you think he should be allowed to compete?
