• Question: How are athletes in the Olympic games drug tested?

      During the Olympics over 6000 samples will be tested and will include all medal winners. This could be at any point during the games and athletes will be given no notice. Athletes must give there whereabouts at all times so that they can be found for samples to be taken. They will obtain a urine sample and a blood sample to be analysed in the labs and if a positive sample is found a second sample (sample B) will be analysed to confirm the positive test.
