• Question: how did scientists work out that humans are close to apes and is it true?

      Hey ells8, yes were are closely related to apes, we are all parts of the primate family, if you look at gorillas you can see the similarity by the fact we share opposable thumbs, in other words we share the same hands! The umbrella term for our species is ‘homo’ we are homo sapiens while the gorilla family is an extant homininae. On the other hand, you can see very similar behaviour between humans and apes even today!!!!!
