  Blindness is a condition that can be caused by a number of things. You may be born blind because a genetic mutation or a substance you were exposed to in the womb may have prevented the proper development of you eyes. Alternatively, your sight may be loss due to a trauma to the eye or due to a disease which may cause a break down of some part of the eye structure or affect the area of the brain which interprets site.
