Hi shayleehartles! I think I’ve mentioned this in another question, and this is how I think the world was formed: Over millions of years, a little cluster of gas and dust that was swirling around the sun started to collect together to form a super-hot molten core. Eventually, the surface of this core cooled down to form a crust, and because this ball had its own gravity, began to pull more and more dust and debris onto its surface. This ball is what became Earth!
Great question! I think there are two main ways that we got water. The first is when comets that were made partly of ice hit Earth as it was forming, they would have left water. The second way is that when the earth was very young, its surface was covered in volcanoes, which spewed out lots of gases which might have included carbon dioxide, hydrogen and oxygen. In those hot early atmospheric conditions, hydrogen and oxygen would have quite easily combined to form water!
