• Question: How does animals and peoples bodies adapt and change as generations go on?

      That’s a great question, Niamh, and it’s all to do with evolution. Over the course of thousands of years, some people/animals might develop a particularly useful body part or ability, that means that they are better at surviving than others. If they have children that also have the same ability, then they too will be better at surviving, and if THEY have children…. and so on. So over time, the majority of people will have this ability, and it will seem normal to everyone.

      That’s a really simple way of looking at it, so if you think that there are LOTS of these things happening at the same time, then that’s how our bodies adapt over time.
