• Question: How does plants exist? Where did all the seeds come from?

      Hi @ naturalme,

      this is a bit of a ‘chicken or egg’ question isn’t it?
      Plants evolved from very simple one cell organisms in the same way that we did, but selection pressures resulted in the development of a plant rather than an animal. The seed for a new plant species will come from a plant that is very similar, but not genetically identical to it since offspring are not genetically identical to their parents, so in answer to ‘chicken or egg’ – always egg!
