      Hi cocolocolove,

This all depends on the specific volcano; it could be minutes, hours, days, months or even years.

Generally it will stop once all the pressure has been released 🙂

Have you got any more questions?

Hi cocolocolove! The majority of volancic eruptions last between 1 and 6 months. Generally speaking, an explosive eruption will end when sufficient decompression occurs and causes the magma chamber inside the volcano to collapse and restore the initial pressure conditions.
