      Hi @jonjo123,

      There are loads! I’m ot sure we even know how many there are. Some make up the structural units of DNA. These are adenine, guanine, thymine, and cytosine. In the DNA double helix these bases pair up: Adenine with thymine, and cytosine with guanine.

      However nucleotides also participate in cellular metabolism. Molecules such as cGMP, and cAMP (which I’m sure you will come across later in your career) serve as sources of cellular energy which is held in a molecule called ATP.
