      hi anna101,
As medical techniques for resuscitation (like when CPR is given to people after a heart attack) get improve, reports of near-death experiences are actually getting more and more common. Often people report the feeling that they were moving through a tunnel or seeing a light at the end or they know things and how they know these things can’t be explained.

There has been a lot of research done into the medical and psychological areas surrounding near-death experiences. We don’t yet know whether near-death experiences are caused by physiological changes in the brain or if they are biological reactions to oxygen loss or approaching death. They could also be a product of changing states of consciousness.
