Question: What is the worst experiment you have ever done?

Hi merlingirl!
When I was at school we tried to grow a type of bacteria in small dishes to watch how it multiplied over time. However, after checking our dishes every day for a month there was no bacteria at all in the dishes and we were all very disappointed that the experiment had completely failed. It turned out that the laboratory technician had cleaned the dishes with really strong antibacterial cleaner and so the bacteria was never going to survive in those dishes. But we all learnt something from the experiement even though it failed. Not every experiment you do will work or give you what you expect to find…..it keeps the science exciting because you never know exactly what’s going to happen!!!
