This might sound really lame, but I think the best thing that science can give to someone is the ability to think about how the world works, and get excited about how things work in the way which they do. I’m constantly looking at random things – it might be a bus, or a crane, or an oven or TV – and find it amazing to think about how we developed something like that, and what life might have been like beforehand. I think to give that gift to someone, so that they can find everything exciting, is the most important gift anyone can have.

Great question! I think the best thing that science can give to someone is their health if they are poorly and science can help them to get better.
