Your hair has a bit of a funny texture – it kind of looks like it has overlapping layers on the surface, almost like the tiles on the roof of a house. Over time, these layers separate out to make the surface of the hair very uneven, and this means that it doesn’t reflect light in a consistent manner – which is what makes your hair look dull. I’m not sure what exactly it is in conditioner, but there is something in there that smooths the surface of your hairs back down, which makes them reflect light in a much more even manner. And that’s what makes it glossy again!
