      Hi spongeyyy,

Generally babies are born with blue eyes because this is the ‘default’ (recessive) gene i.e. what usually occurs. Generally eye colour will change in the first year when melanin (small brown molecules) in your eye becomes exposed to light. This is why humans have a variety of eyes colours.
