  bones serve a slightly different purpose to the cell wall in plants. The most important thing is that they are able to develop and grow with use, this is achieved by bones by laying down more material in the areas that experience the most force. Plants use cell walls as they are strong and tough, but also flexible, so they hold up the plant, but allow it to sway in the breeze.
