• Question: why do some people have only their dads genes?

      Hi @jtb1999

      actually, we inherit an equal amount of genetic material from both parents, however some genes are more dominant than others. Take for example eye colour, the colour brown is what is called a recessive gene whereas blue is dominant. Therefore if your mum has brown eyes and your dad has blue eyes, you will have blue eyes like your dad.
