      As we get older various processes go on which give the appearance of ageing. For instance some of our DNA sequences shorten making us less resistant to disease, our skin becomes saggy as the elastin in it loses its elasticity (like an old pair of tights!), our bones become frailer as the structures within it break down and therefore more prone to breaking. All of these processes and many others are collectively known as ageing.
