We have a growth spurt in our teens as a result of puberty, which is the stage during which we develop into an adult. Part of this process involves the release of various types of hormones into our body, some of which promote growth. We’re growing all the time when we’re children, but we experience a ‘spurt’ in our teens because of these hormones.
