• Question: why is the north/south pole light all day and night at the start of the year and why is it dark all day and night in the end of the year?

That’s a great question, max! It’s to do with the tilt of the Earth – at certain times of year, the north pole will be tilted towards the sun in such a way that the sun never actually sets, and the exact opposite happens in winter!
