      Great question! Carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide don’t react with each other, so they wouldn’t combine to form something new if they came into contact with each other. In fact, they come into contact with each other all the time; it’s just that nothing happens! it’s kind of like when carbon dioxide and oxygen come together in air – they don’t react with each other, they just get mixed up.
